Small Business Month is here and Windsor’s entrepreneurs celebrated at this year’s Small Biz Expo 2017.
The expo had a record-breaking number of vendors this year with 75 small businesses participating.
The Small Business Centre’s Executive Director Sabrina DeMarco said the event has been growing steadily every year.
“In our first year… we had about 35 vendors participate, and it grew,” said DeMarco.
The event, held at Caboto Club, welcomed more than 500 people to shop and learn about entrepreneurs in the region.
According to the organizers, the event featured locally made independent products and services, local food and beverages, a cash bar and live demonstrations.
DeMarco said the event was created to celebrate and showcase the small businesses in the Windsor-Essex region. She added that small businesses are very important to the region’s economy.
“We often say that small business is the backbone of the economy,” said DeMarco.
“They help to create our local economy [and] they help to build the community in which we live, work and play.”
