Saints Baseball

The St. Clair Men’s Baseball team walked-off the host school, Fanshawe Falcons 9-8, in the Gold Medal Game Oct. 25 at the OCAA Provincial Championships at London’s Labatt Memorial Park.
Saints pitcher Teiden Frias from Panama and catcher Eric Cunningham from LaSalle were named to the Championship All-Star team with pitcher Shane Courtney winning the MVP.
Coach Dave Cooper and the Saints team have won 33 straight games since the 2014 season.
This is the third straight OCAA Provincial Championship for the Saints and is the first undefeated season since the 1975-76 Men’s Hockey team for St. Clair.

     SWOSSAA Cross country

Vista Vortex Maddy Rivelis and Madison Burnham went one-two Oct. 29 in the senior girls 5km race at the SWOSSAA cross-country championships at Malden Park.
Rivelis with a time of 18:40 and Burnham finished three seconds later with 18:43.
The Holy Names Knights took the senior boys team title with Enrique Nepomuceno 24:03.

Junior B

Leamington Flyers goalie Michael Barrett made all 25 save to complete the 2-0 shutout over the Strathrow Rockets in Leamington, Oct.29.
Nicholas Mainella and Cale Chibbs had the goals for the Flyers and J.P. Grineau got both assists.
The Flyers won their fourth straight game to set their record at (13-2-1)

High school girls basketball
St. Joseph lasers Melanie Jubenville scored 14 points in a 63 – 20 win over Cardinal Carter. Ciara Emery and Venesse Viselli both added 12 points for the Lasers.

The St. Clair College women’s soccer team won the first game at the OCAA championships
Bella Riccardi scored five goals for the Saints in their 6 – 2 win over the Feming Knights on Oct. 29.

Spitfires

Garret Hughson took to the ice at the WFCU Centre for the first time as a Spitfire.
Hughson made 28 saves to preserve the 3-0 shutout win in-front of a crowd of 4,378. The Spitfires record is now 9-2-3 on the season.
