The Detroit Red Wings played the New York Rangers in Madsion Square Garden on Wednesday, winning 2-1 and bringing their record to two wins and two losses.

The Toronto Maple Leafs had a rough night losing to the Winnipeg Jets on Wednesday 5-4 in overtime. Jets second overall pick Patrick Laine scored the final goal to close the game which also gave him his first career hat-trick.

Packers top Bears in NFC Thursday nighter

The Green Bay Packers faced off against the Chicago bears winning 26-10 at Lambeau Field Thursday night bringing them to a 4-2 record while Chicago sits at 1-6.

MLB World Series status

The Chicago Cubs hit their stride Thursday night against the Los Angeles Dodgers in the race for the NLCS winning 8-4 and pushing the series to game 6. This puts the Cubs at a 3-2 series lead over the Dodgers. Kyle Hendricks is set to face Clayton Kershaw on Saturday night.

Raptors top Pistons in preseason action

The Toronto Raptors were on fire against the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday night winning 103-91. The regular season starts next week and with this win, it takes the Raptor’s pre-season record to 4-2, while the Pistons pre-season record sits at 3-3.

Spitfires news

Connor Corcoran moved up to secure a spot on the Windsor Spitfires roster after the team was forced to sign him to their Junior A card, removing him from his spot on the Barrie Colts AAA team.

The Kingston Frontenacs came to town and were turned away by the Windsor Spitfires on Thursday at the WFCU Centre. Cole Purboo and newcomer Sean Day were the only scorers for the night taking the game 2-0.

Junior hockey

The Lasalle Vipers took the St. Thomas Stars for a ride Wedesday night with a 6-2 victory. This brings the Vipers one step closer to a 10-game win streak.

Leamington Flyers played the Chatham Maroons Thursday night trying their best to keep it close. The Flyers led 3-2 after the first period but Chatham came back and scored two more to lead 4-3. The Flyers scored once again to take things to overtime but were stopped short when Chatham scored to finish the game 5-4.
