St. Clair Centre of the Art holds 33 annual Great Soup Kitchen

Fans of soup had a chance to enjoy a number of flavours at this year’s Great Soup Kitchen at the St. Clair College Centre of the Arts on March 27. All money raised from the event was given to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Brenda Clayton, 91, has volunteered since the event started 33 years ago and said the soup kitchen gives people an opportunity to try different soups from different restaurants across Windsor.
“Normally we have around 40 restaurants but this year was down a little bit, “said Clayton. “It’s a very nice thing to do, all the soups are different and everyone in the community is very good.”
Clayton said the money raised from this event is important as Windsor is home to the third highest number of heart patients in Canada.
“We need to keep the research going,” said Clayton. “We need more help for these people and you can’t do it without money.”
