St. Clair College students rewarded with scholarships and bursaries

Several students at St. Clair College are rewarded for their hard work every year through scholarships and bursaries funded by donors.
The annual St. Clair College Scholarship and Bursary Award Ceremony was held at the Chrysler Theatre on March 19 and 26. The ceremony allows the students, staff and faculty to show their appreciation towards all donors.
Students must attend the ceremony to collect their scholarship and take a complimentary photo with their donor.
“It’s the greatest night for our students because it connects our community to our students. Close to 200 donors have stepped forward to invest in our students and that is what it’s all about,” said John Fairley, the Vice President of communications for St. Clair College.
Scholarships and Bursaries are cash rewards from the college that are given once a year to hard working students, as well as those in financial need.
Mathieu Eitany Malo is studying police foundations at St. Clair College and received the Jim Kales Excellence Scholarship.
“A lot of people do not apply. If they have good grades and they volunteer and they’re known in the school environment then you should just apply, you have nothing to lose anyway,” said Malo.
This year awarded over 500 scholarships totaling over $300,000. Any full-time St. Clair College student may apply as long as they live in Canada and maintain at least a 2.0 grade point average.
