With the holidays fast approaching Windsor residents find themselves at a crossroads whether to cook a full Christmas dinner or just order take out. “Since we can only have a limited amount of family in our home for the holidays, we’re just wondering is it worth making a huge dinner,” Martin Catari said.

Times are certainly tough this year for some. They will not be able to see loved ones, some are spending the holidays alone to avoid getting sick. Some families do not want to cook a large meal for just a small amount, and some are not willing to go into the grocery stores.

Here are a few places to keep in mind this holiday season:

Twisted Apron is a local restaurant known for its unique ‘twist’ on meals such as, ‘breakfast poutine’, ‘black bean burger’ and now they are offering a holiday menu. The holiday menu is a gorgeous variety of meals made in house anywhere from, wine, pecan pie, meat lasagna, and a full turkey dinner that feeds 4-6 people. The turkey dinner includes roasted turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and rooted vegetables. This is a great way to support local and still give your family a Christmas meal while staying safe and social distancing. For $140 you can order the full holiday turkey dinner, be sure to pick up a bottle of red wine while you are at it.

Mezzo is another fantastic choice to add to your holidays this year, they are an Italian restaurant with a touch of love in their atmosphere and food. You can order online and pick from a variety of choices such as, Vegan box, Dinner box (feeds 4), date/zoom box (antipasto box)which features meats, cheese, bread, olives and a touch of Italian love and even wine to take home.

Mezzo is well known in Windsor for their generosity in the community, they always give back and help feed those in need. Their savory delicious food helps remind us what family means and gives us all a reason to put our phones down and enjoy each other while also enjoying a meal.

Sweet Revenge bakery is next on the list for their sweet treats, they offer cakes, cookies, cupcakes, and macarons. They offer a holiday Christmas menu that is perfect for you to have on Christmas or any day during the holidays. They offer cute gifts that look like handsome little snowmen but are wrapped macarons that will be great to bring as a host gift, or even stocking stuffer. You can order

customized cookies if you are feeling creative as well. Prices for this go from $12-$70, they have something for everyone.

Be sure to check out these local restaurants for the holidays, support them and enjoy their delicious menu they have  to offer us this holiday season.
