Super Bowl Sunday kicks off

The NFL’s biggest spectacle of the year is about to kick off Sunday as they host the 54th Super Bowl.

This year’s championship will feature the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.

The Chiefs defeated the Texans 51-31 in the divisional round and the Titans 35-24 in the conference championship to earn their spot in the final.

While the 49ers dominated Vikings 27-10 in the divisional playoffs and the Green Bay Packers 37-20 two weeks ago.

The last time the Chiefs and 49ers faced off, San Francisco got the best of Kansas City, 27-17.

A few of the local sports bars around Windsor will play the game Sunday evening.

“Most of our revenue is off sports,” said Nicolas Puim, owner of downtown Windsor bar The Dugout. “We do a half time give away, [have] drinks and food specials.”

The Super Bowl also serves as one of the largest concerts of the year, as Shakira and J-lo are set to perform at the half-time show.
