Suspect in smash-and-grab robberies identified by police

The Windsor Police Service is seeking the public’s help in identifying and locating a violent and dangerous criminal.

The man is sought after for several thefts at commercial establishments in the Windsor area that were committed in a smash-and-grab fashion.

Police say some of the thefts involved utilizing stolen trucks to break through storefront doorways and enter the premises.

Trailers for business and leisure purposes were allegedly stolen from properties, according to the police.

The suspect is believed to be Darrin Bastien, 29, of Windsor, and is described as white, six feet tall, around 280 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.

Given that Bastien is a violent and dangerous person, the police advise against approaching or engaging him.
