The Windsor Essex-County Health Unit has made it possible for families to update their children’s record and receive vaccinations if needed.

The health unit is holding a series of clinics for parents and their children who received a suspension order regarding vaccine updates.

It is mandatory in Ontario to have school children immunized. Parents and guardians provide vaccination and immunization records to their local public health units. Health care providers are not required to do this. The immunization record card is yellow and has information about which vaccinations children received and when.

An immunization checklist is required when a child attends school in Ontario. Some diseases include: diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, polio, measles, mumps, rubella, meningococcal and varicella (chickenpox).

To update your child’s personal immunization records you can visit immune.wechu.org.
