Taylor Swift announces new album at Grammy Awards
Swifties have a reason to celebrate as Taylor Swift announced she will be releasing her new studio album.
Taylor Swift won the Grammy award in the category of Best Pop Vocal Album for her album Midnights. During her acceptance speech she announced the name of her album, The Tortured Poets Department.
Swift acknowledged her fans in her speech and said this album was a big thanks to them.
“I want to say thank you to the members of the Recording Academy for voting this way,” said Swift. “But I know that the way that the Recording Academy voted is a direct reflection of the passion of the fans.”
Swift then went on to make the surprise announcement of her new album The Tortured Poets Department.
“So, I want to say thank you to the fans by telling you a secret that I’ve been keeping from you for the last two years, which is that my brand new album comes out on April 19.”
Prior to the announcement, Swift updated all her social media profiles to black and white. This lead fans to think that she would be announcing her next re-recording Reputation (Taylor’s Version).
This was then followed by her shutting down her website leaving an error code Error 321 Backend fetch failed, which was then followed by DPT:321 which stands for Tortured Poets Department.
Swifts new album will be available on April 9, 2024 on CD, streaming and other music platforms.
