The Red Bull bus is coming to town

The wheels on the Red Bull bus are parking at their final destination on the corner of Ouellette Avenue and University Avenue Sept. 20.
Downtown Windsor will be hosting a concert from the side of a 1967 GM transit bus modified to transform into a 17 by 15 foot soundstage in less than 30 minutes.
“I think this event will directly affect downtown, the millions of dollars in economic revenue that it can create are tremendous,” said Larry Horwitz, chair of the Downtown Business Improvement Association. “We helped sponsor the Coming Home Music Festival, and we have moved forward even in a greater amount with this festival. We’re closing the main streets and bringing people downtown to a free event. It’ll generate all kinds of economic opportunities for merchants and that is very exciting.”
The event is a collaboration between St. Clair College, the University of Windsor, and the DWBIA. The show will hold 2,000 people, first come first serve. Artists scheduled to appear include Skratch Bastid, Thugli and Grandtheft among other artists.
Kate Isley, president of theSt. Clair College Student Representative Counsel, said she thinks this is a fantastic opportunity not only for the college and the university, but also for Windsor as a whole.
“It’s a really great opportunity for us to bring everyone together,” said Isley. “We’ve been fortunate enough to be engaged in this by businesses within the downtown local core that has put on this concert.”
The concert is open to all ages and starts at 7 p.m.
