NHL
Toronto Maple Leafs’ injured forward Auston Matthews skated on Nov. 15 with the team. This was the first time he has done so since being injured in a game on Oct. 27, against the Winnipeg Jets, after receiving a hit by Jets player Jacob Trouba. While Matthews did participate in drills he did not take part in line rushes. Matthews also took part in the West Coast road trip despite being injured at the request of Leafs Head Coach Mike Babcock.
“I mean these are your buddies, this is what you do. Why wouldn’t you hang out with your guys,” said Babcock. “I think mental health is so important in getting better as well as the physical part.”
NBA
