TLC Animal Aid Annual Charity Event: Four kittens find homes

The annual ‘Tender Loving Care’ TLC Animal Aid fundraiser was held at Brimstone Games, a charity which fosters and supports the rehoming of animals alongside spreading awareness and educating the public.  

On Nov. 23 the public were invited to visit the animals up for adoption on Tecumseh Road, participants had the opportunity to show support by purchasing tickets to enter the Brimstone Games raffle, with raffle ticket proceeds all directly going to the charity. When entering the raffle, the public had the chance to win games and puzzles. Donations of animal products for TLC were welcomed.

TLC Animal Aid’s mission is to inspire, educate and empower the community to understand, love and protect animals. Three dogs and kittens were up for up for adoption during the event. 

Lori Clifford is a volunteer for TLC Animal Aid. Clifford, who has fostered and adopted through TLC Animal Aid, was at the event taking care of two of the dogs up for adoption, Karma and Harmony Prapso, shihtzus three-year-olds who are to be adopted together.  

There is a need for more education and for people to understand the long-term commitments when getting a pet, to help the cycle of animals needs to be rehomed.  

“I also work at Pet Smart and try to educate as best I can about animals, there’s a real issue,” said Clifford. 

Allison Brown is a member of the public who attended the event. 

 “I came to get my kitty fix, I love to see the kittens, but I already have two cats at home, so can’t house anymore,” said Brown. 

The TLC Animal Aid Facebook group page thanked the event goers and confirmed the event had helped all three kittens to be adopted.
