Tourism Windsor hosts 6th annual best of Windsor Essex
The 6th annual Best of Windsor Essex Awards took place online March 24th, with more people voting than ever.
Tourism Windsor hosted the awards ceremony online for the first time. These awards were given to the best of Windsor Essex food, art, shop and more. Almost 14,000 people voted this year, and increase of nine per cent over last year.
Some of the winners were Windsor riverfront for Best Photo Ops, Best Place to Shop was Devonshire Mall and Best Place to Get Coffee was Anchor Coffee House. These awards highlight Windsor Essex’s strength and what Windsor-Essex has to offer.
Gordon Orr, CEO of Tourism Windsor says that he saw a 60 per cent increase in people nominating business.
“Our industry is stronger when we all work together and seeing this collaboration and positive messaging has been an inspiration for all of us at Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island. We saw an almost 60 per cent increase in people nominating businesses and a 9 per cent increase in votes,” said Orr in a press release.
Benny Flammia, a Windsor resident, said that he can see why the waterfront won Best Photo Ops.
“It’s beautiful looking, calm and relaxing it’s a nice place to relax. I hope they expand it further down,” said Flammia.
Tourism Windsor will be putting the winners of the event into this year’s Visitor’s Guide that people can view online highlighting all the winners of Windsor Essex. They will also receive a plaque to highlight that they have won. The full list of the winners can be viewed on Tourism Windsor website.
