Transit Windsor doubling in size and service
The Windsor city council approved a new bus system for residents on Monday, calling the proposal More Than Transit.
More Than Transit is promising to increase frequency, extended hours, and provide more buses and routes in the coming years.
The plan is to double the existing budget of $35 million to $70 million over an 8-year period.
As part of the More Than Transit proposal, there will be neighbourhood routes running within areas like east Riverside and west Forest Glade.
Ward 4 Councilor Chris Holt said he is hoping the city can get over the perception that buses are only for people who can’t afford a car.
