The school year is in full swing in Windsor, Ont. and the buses are filling up. Transit ridership has increased by 22 per cent according to the City of Windsor website which was last recorded in 2018. Earlier this year, due to the demand and high ridership there was some relief  on the 1C and the Dominion 5, as schedules changed on both routes. Transway 1C is now 10 minutes all day Mon.to Fri. rather than only during peak times, and the Dominion 5 runs every 20 minutes until  6 p.m. The City of Windsor also reports that most of the high ridership is due to the success of the U-pass program, especially for the 1C which serves the University of Windsor. The increase on the 5  is likely due to St Clair College’s record enrollment for the second year in a row.
