Transit Windsor Workers Approve New Agreement
Workers at Transit Windsor, represented by the Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) Local 616, have ratified a new collective agreement on Feb. 4, preventing a potential strike.
The agreement includes wage increases, benefits improvements, and preserves federally mandated sick days for transit workers. Despite months of negotiations and two strike notices, both parties found common ground hours before the strike action was to begin.
Operation of essential services for Windsor and Essex County will resume as usual.
