Two people are under arrest after an alleged carjacking in Windsor.

Police were called to a car robbery near Ellis Street East, close to Howard Avenue on May 5 around 6 p.m.

Police say two suspects, one armed with a folding pocket-knife, forced the victim out of their vehicle after opening its doors.

According to police, The male suspect then attempted to cut through the victim’s seatbelt.

The victim was able to exit the vehicle without sustaining any injuries — but not before the suspects took their cellphone and wallet. Police say the suspects made purchases with the victim’s credit card and attempted to complete several additional transactions.

Damien Ladouceur, 32, and Emily Shust, 22, were captured in the Durham region yesterday and brought back to Windsor.

Both Ladouceur and shuts face robbery charges with a weapon. Ladouceur also faces two probation breach charges, while shuts faces four charges related to possession and use of credit card obtained illegally.
