Hospital targeted in $60,000 scam, suspect charged
A 48-year-old woman from Tecumseh, Paulette Jagatic, has been accused by the Windsor Police Service of defrauding Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare (HDGH) for more than $60,000.
The investigation by the Windsor Police Financial Crimes Unit began in February 2023 following a report of fraud involving a hospital employee managing the volunteer association.
It was found that $62,169 meant for the association was diverted into the suspect’s personal bank account over a five-year period, from November 2015 to September 2020. Jagatic faces charges of fraud exceeding $5,000.
