WIFF Sets New Records in 2018
The Windsor International Film Festival wrapped up a record-breaking festival this weekend.
What began humbly in 2005 with 20 films shown over three days has grown to the second largest volunteer film fest in Canada, screening a record 143 films from 21 countries over 7 days.
Ticket sales this year totaled about 24,000, the most in the festival’s history, dwarfing the less than 1,000 tickets sold in 2005.
Congratulations to the entire @WindsorFilmFest team led by @VincentGeorgie for a record-breaking and simply outstanding week! #WIFF

Volunteers were thrilled to be a part of the largest festival in WIFF’s 14-year history.
“It’s an amazing event and the volunteers make it happen,” said volunteer Omran Abouhassan.
The goal moving forward, according to WIFF executive director Vincent Georgie, is continued growth.
“Right now, we are running a seven-day festival. Next year, which is the 15th anniversary, we are running a 10-day festival,” Georgie said.
Volunteers will get a break before they begin planning the 2019 festival at their first board meeting on November 14.
