Windsor Caesar Casino on strike

After Fifty-nine per cent of Caesars Windsor workers voted no for a new contract this past Thursday, the Windsor Casino closed its doors and employees are in strike.
Workers are currently picketing out front of the downtown establishment… they’re asking for better wages.
Dana Dunphy, the union chairperson: “It is not easy , but you have to do dig down and do it. You have to stand up, we have to stand solid as one team and eventually we will get back to work.”
In the meantime – the hotel is closed and concerts have been cancelled.
“We have no clue at this stage. We have reached the employers and said that we are ready to go back at the barging table and they said they are not prepared to meet,” Dana says.
The two sides are not currently negotiating – but the chair of the union is hopeful the two sides can get back to the table soon.
