Windsor Express and Windsor Caesars Partnership

The Windsor Express have beaten the Detroit Pistons in the opportunity to host a home game at Caesars Windsor.

To enhance their reputation, Windsor’s only professional basketball team is partnering with Caesars Windsor. The Express made the announcement Nov. 20 that they will be partnering with Caesars Windsor to play a regular season game in the Colosseum Jan. 15, 2014. They will be facing the two-time defending champions 401 rivals the London Lighting.

This will be the first time in National Basketball League history a game will be played at a venue like Caesars Windsor.

“Caesars Windsor is thrilled for this opportunity to team up with Windsor Express for the first of this kind of sporting event in the Colosseum,” said Mary Riley, vice president of marketing at Caesars Windsor. “It’s not only a great way to showcase our local basketball team but also the versatility of our venue which has been host to hundreds of headline music and entertainment shows and now the excitement of a live basketball game.”

This is the second season the Express are playing in the NBL and team president and CEO Dartis Willis is excited to give the fans something to be proud of.

“This is another opportunity for us to bring the community together for an event we can all be proud of. By partnering with Caesars, we get to bring our fans to one of the nicest venues in our region to see their team face our closest rival,” said Willis.

NBL Commissioner Paul Riley said he couldn’t be more excited to see the two companies join forces.

“Our league is all about entertainment and so is Caesars,” said Riley. “We could not be any more excited to be features in a venue that has hosted some of the biggest names in sports and entertainment. It’s going to be a special night.”

All ages are invited to come out to Caesars Windsor to catch the Express in action Jan. 15. Tickets will go on sale Nov. 29. Tickets will be available at Windsor Express office, located at 720 Ouellette Ave. and at the Caesars Windsor box office.
