Windsor Fire and Rescue Services response timed
By Jillian Toman
Windsor Fire and Rescue Services has the longest response time among 10 large cities surveyed in Canada, according to the Ontario Municipal CAO’s Benchmarking Initiative.
The survey results revealed Windsor takes 20 seconds longer than any of the other departments. The survey included departments in Toronto, Calgary and Winnipeg. The Montreal Fire Service reportedly had the fastest response time.
“The numbers are not always what they seem,” said Windsor Fire and Rescue Services, Chief Bruce Montone. “The statistical data is awesome to us, but not in comparison to other municipalities, because there are so many factors from one municipality to another.”
