Windsor funds art community with $60,000
The City of Windsor has announced a $60,000 grant to fund and support the art community during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The city has relaunched the arts, culture and heritage fund allowing local artists who have been affected by COVID-19 to continue their work.
The funds will range from $500-$1000 and will allow live performances such as music, theatre, online classes, workshops and tutorials that will be available to users online and on their section of the City of Windsor website. They will also be providing funds to non-live projects making them available online to access and share.
Once projects have been selected Mayor Drew Dilkens and the City of Windsor will be promoting artists on social media and using the hashtag #YQGStandsStrong.
The arts community are waiting for their funds, but in the meantime Windsorites are able to continue to show their support through donations, sharing resources, purchasing artwork online and through participating in artists live streams.
Applications for funding open on Friday April 17 and close on Friday April 24.
