Windsor gamers gather for 24 hour charity gaming event

Windsor gamers will be using their skills to raise money for sick children.
In November, organisers of Extra Life Gaming, a locally sponsored event, will be holding two 12-hour gaming marathons to raise money for the miracle network of hospitals.
“Over the past four years all together we have raised exactly $8,746.70,” said event organizer Maurice Tousignant. “Our goal this year is to break $10,000.”
Tousignant has been hosting the extra life event in Windsor since 2013. The money raised comes from sponsorships and a live auction.
“The event is open to people of all ages and it is family orientated,” said Cindy Smith, an Extra Life Gaming attendee. “Even people who have never played these games are welcome to come out and learn a new game.” Smith has attended the event for the past two years.
Extra Life was created in 2008 by a group calling themselves the Sarcastic Game Community, for a leukemia victim named Victoria Enmon. The idea at the time was to game for 24 hours and donate all of the proceeds to the hospital fighting for her through Children’s Miracle Network.
The event will take place at Brimstone Games on 1421 Tecumseh Rd.E. from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on both Saturday Nov. 5 and Sunday Nov. 6.
The gamers will play a variety of different board games and card games, there will also be auctions, giveaway and door prizes.
The event is open to the public and all ages are welcome. For more information or to sponsor the event contact Maurice Tousignant at [email protected].
