The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit is monitoring the current outbreak of 2019-nCoV in China and around the world.

Windsor Regional Hospital, Erie Shore HealthCare, Essex-Windsor EMS, primary care providers and local school boards have all prepared to assess individuals suspected of 2019-nCoV.

The organizations have also prepared to detect and contain the spread of the virus in the unlikely event of a first case of 2019-nCoV in Windsor and Essex County.

All the hospitals in Windsor are following the World Health Organization (WHO) and the ministry of health to develop the guidelines.

According to a report released on Friday, there are 3,1264 confirmed cases of coronavirus in China. More than 630 people have died of coronavirus in China.

No local cases have been identified.
