Windsor hosting human rights education exhibition
The exhibition “Transforming Lives: The Power of Human Rights Education” is in Windsor for the first time.
Supported by the City of Windsor, New Canadians Centre of Excellence and the University of Windsor, the exhibition raises awareness of the vital role of human rights education in promoting dignity, equality, and peace.
Organizers say human rights education fosters the development of values, attitudes and behaviours that empower people to take action to defend and promote human rights, democracy, and rule of law.
As well as exploring the concepts of human rights and human rights education, the exhibition presents stories of how human rights education has led to transformation and empowerment in the lives of individuals and communities in Australia, Burkina Faso, Peru, Portugal and Turkey.
The exhibition is already underway at Mackenzie Hall in Sandwich Town and remains on display until March 21.
