Windsor in line for another $23 million

Windsor can expect another $23 million windfall from the province this year, according to Mayor Drew Dilkens.
The money is coming from the Ontario Municipal Partnership Fund (OMPF) – the province’s main general assistance grant to municipalities.
Dilkens said the city received a letter on Wednesday from Ontario Finance Minister Vic Fedeli confirming the OMPF’s funding structure will remain unchanged this year, meaning Windsor’s allotment will be similar or the same as last year.
The city has received $6 million of the money so far but it is unclear when the rest of the funds will flow. In 2018, the province provided a total of $510 million in funding to 389 municipalities through the OMPF program.
