Windsor man faces child pornography charges
In January of 2019, the Windsor Police Service Internet Child Exploitation (I.C.E.) Unit started to investigate suspected instances of child pornography. Members of the I.C.E. Unit applied for and received judicial authorization to search a residence linked to the investigation.
Following the investigations, Windsor police found a Windsor man allegedly in possession of and distributing child pornography. On Friday morning, Steven Brydges was arrested at the 300 block of Wyandotte Street East.
Brydges is facing the charges of child pornography, access child pornography and make available child pornography.
Police do not believe any local children were involved in the offences.
Police will continue this type of investigation to combat online child sexual abuse.
“This case also serves as a reminder to any and all offenders – the digital world leaves behind a digital fingerprint – and no matter where you are in the world, law enforcement partners will work together to help keep our communities safe,” Sgt. Steve Betteridge noted in a media release.
