By Mohammed Makki
Mayoral candidate Matt Marchand met with supporters ahead of the election at the Green Bean Cafe near the University of Windsor.
“Monday is the day, make sure you vote,” said Marchand to the large crowd, who cheered and clapped.
Marchand said he would focus on issues ranging from crime and transit to the opioid crisis and homelessness if he gets elected.
Kyle Lefaive, Green Bean Café owner, said he supports Marchand’s positive vision for the city.
“I feel Matt has more steps and bigger steps that I see in a positive direction as opposed to someone taking us into circles,” he said.
The election is on Monday, Oct. 22. Polls are open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
