The S’Aints Band, a super-group Windsor and Essex County musicians, played a few songs at the Windsor Star News Cafe Monday to promote their Christmas charity concert
“What those guys are doing is phenomenal,” said Patricia Paterson, who turned out with dozens of others to watch the lunchtime show. “A lot of famous stars are not doing charity concerts but look at these guys, they are taking care of our community.”

The Sleighing Hunger concert, which benefits food banks in Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent, will be held Dec. 21 at Caesars Windsor.
This year’s event will mark the eighth annual concert. The band has raised more than $50,000 through album and ticket sales.
“Our aim is to collect $60,000 this year and this year we produced an album called Love is the Answer,” says Kelly Hoppe, one of the members of the band.
“We are receiving support from everywhere… From the City of Windsor all the way to Detroit.”
St. Clair College is one of the biggest sponsors of the event.
Tickets cost $25. The album can be purchased at the concert or through the band’s website.
