Windsor plowing through snow removal
By Shirley Feng
On Feb. 11, the City of Windsor declared a snow emergency, forcing city crews to work around the clock to clear both main roads and residential streets.
“We have worked lots of long hours and we’re used to being cold,” said the driver of one of Windsor’s many plows who gave his name as Randy.
Thirty centimetres of snow had fallen over the weekend.
The city was asking residents to remove their cars off the roads so plows could clear the streets properly. To accommodate this, parking in city lots was free all day on Feb. 12.
