Windsor Police investigate murder

A 63-year-old woman was found dead early in the morning on Friday, July 13 on Windsor’s west side.

At 9:30 a.m. uniformed Windsor Police Officers responded to a call regarding a deceased person at 564 Oak St. The ensuing investigation determined that the woman was a victim of a homicide and had suffered “obvious trauma”.

A 40-year-old man was arrested in connection with the homicide approximately three hours later walking in the area of Elliott and Dougall in downtown Windsor.

Police also recovered a vehicle associated with 564 Oak St. shortly thereafter in the Riverside area.

Investigators advise public safety is not at risk, as they have determined this was not a random act of violence.

According to real estate documents, the residence at 564 Oak St. is owned by a Jack and Florence Coffey.

The identity of the victim and the arrested man have not been released.

Police at the scene had no comment and voice mails were not immediately returned.
