Windsor residence struck by automobile, fire breaks out
A Windsor male is facing charges after driving a stolen Impala into a residence around 3:00 on October 19.
Autorities responded to a report of a collision which resulted in the break-out of a fire at a home on the 1600 block of Jefferson avenue. The white Chevrolet Impala was later determined to be stolen from the same neighborhood as the scene of the crash.
Windsor Police Services report that one male and one female were seen fleeing the scene shortly after the collision.
There were no injuries as a result of the incident, Windsor Fire announced via their twitter:
Jefferson fire last night was caused by a vehicle striking the house, occupants of car not injured, residents not home at time of fire, damage to house and contents $140,000. *JL

At 4:44am they tweeted that the fire had been put out and firefighters were returning to their stations.

At 6:30 that same morning, Windsor Police were able to identify the suspect and place him under arrest. The 27 year old male is facing charges of posession of stolen property of under $5000. He was released on a promise to appear with a future court date.
