It’s the start of fundraising walks and runs, and it hosts concerts, shows and food truck festivals — Windsor’s riverfront Festival Plaza is used throughout the warmer months for a variety of events.

And it’s time for an upgrade.

The City of Windsor is planning a redesign of Festival Plaza and is asking for input from the community to complete the plans. More permanent building structures and extensive landscaping are among the many items in the Central Riverfront Implementation Plan (CRIP). Adopted in 2000, the CRIP is a 25-year plan which was unanimously accepted by city council at the time.

On Feb. 15, an open house will be held at 400 City Hall Square East from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. City staff will be present to present the plans, receive input from residents and discuss the schedule for development.
