Windsor Scarehouse brings Halloween screams
Many Windsor students have been enjoying this year’s local Halloween Scarehouse.
The Windsor Scarehouse is a local haunted house that has been voted the number one scare house throughout Southwestern, Ontario because of its realistic attractions.
Amilia Hormuz, 17, a local high school student, said she didn’t get the chance to go to the Scarehouse last year, which is why she decided to go this past weekend.
“Inside the Scare House it was very creative and well done. There were many sections where they would show different scenes and all kinds of different scary pop ups,” Hormuz said.
The 20,000 square foot haunted house takes approximately 15 minutes to go through. The house is filled with zombies and possessed girls who come towards you. Hormuz said there is even a man pretending to cut off different human body parts that look realistic.
“The Scarehouse wasn’t what I thought it would be like. It was much better because I didn’t expect it to look so realistic and scary,” Hormuz said. “The characters and scenes definitely made the overall Scarehouse worth the entry.”
A St. Clair College student, Jeff Aoun, who also went to the Scarehouse, said he was very impressed because it made him jump and be cautious of his surroundings.
“I like to get scared because it is exhilarating,” Aoun said. “Since it was my first time going to the Scarehouse I thought it was really great and I can’t wait to go next year.”
Aoun said he recommends friends and family in the community go check out the well-known haunted house in future years.
Next year, there will be no age requirement to enter the house and the admission will remain the same at $12. The hours of operation for weekdays will be 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. and on the weekend the hours will be 7 p.m. to midnight. For more information about the Scarehouse you can call 519-791-1492.
