Windsor Transit has new wheels on the roads

Windsor transit riders will be riding in style as 24 new high-tech, fuel-efficient buses hit the streets.
The city split the $16 million cost with the federal government and the province.
These new buses will replace buses that have been on the roads for 20 years, which is well above the recommended usage of 12 years.
Two of the new buses are already on the road, the rest of the fleet is expected to be in service by January.
The federal government contributed $6,707,285 to buy the buses. The province kicked in $5,588,846. The city’s share is $4,472,082.
