The 16th annual Ruth and Bernard Friedman Windsor Jewish Film Festival featured 11 films over four days.

From April 23 to 26, Jewish films from around the world came to Windsor.

“The Windsor Jewish Film Festival was an adjunct to the Detroit Jewish film festival (originally),” said Ralph Winograd of the Windsor Jewish Film Festival committee. “But after four years, it is started out on their own (over here).”

The public was able to watch the films at the Cineplex Odeon Devonshire Mall.

This year’s film selections included comedy, documentary and more, including An Act of Defiance, Bombshell: The Hedy Lamarr Story, The Light of Hope, and The Last Suit.

“The Holocaust theme is a vital part of the Jewish experience from the 30s. However…the Windsor Jewish Film Festival is presenting films that everyone … (would) love,” said Winograd.
