Zach’s Views and Reviews
by Zachary Balogh
School is in session. This TV series will bring the viewer right into grade school.
Abbott Elementary is a workplace comedy that revolves around a group of school teachers trying to do their best at a grade school that has some issues while being filmed by a documentary crew.
The group is led by second-grade teacher Janine Teagues who is determined to help her students despite the circumstances. She works with awkward, good-intentioned history teacher Jacob Hill; and experienced, no-nonsense kindergarten teacher Barbara Howard; and experienced second-grade teacher Melissa Schemmenti, Barbara’s close friend, who has questionable connections.
I started watching this show and I thought it was hilarious. The cast never disappoints to give a laugh when needed, plus the seasons are short and it makes it easy to get through it in one evening. The chemistry between the cast mates is spot on and it feels like I’m watching a group of friends and co-workers who have been working a long time.
Abbott Elementary is a series worth watching if you are looking for some good clean quality fun, especially if you are looking to watch something with the kids. I give it four Z’S. You can watch Abbott Elementary Wednesday nights at 9 p.m. on ABC. You can also stream it on Disney Plus.
