Local doughnut shop gains popularity

A local doughnut shop said they are making a name for themselves.  

Torus Doughnuts’ manager Jenna Simms said after only two years of being open, their bakery has been doing very well.  

Located on Dougall Avenue, the small doughnut shop bakes fresh doughnuts every morning. A customer, Samantha Hamilton, said she has taken a liking to one of their menu items. 

“A favorite doughnut of mine would be peanut butter and jelly,” said Hamilton.   

Other flavors of doughnuts they offer include the Double Chocolate Cake, the Caramel Macchiato and fan-favourite, Cookies and Cream. 

Simms said she has a strategy for coming up with various doughnut flavours. 

“We always look online for inspiration,” said Simms. “We look at different cookies that we see, ice cream flavors, any kind of desert and we just turn it into a doughnut.” 

Tourus also has delivery options, such as Skip the Dishes or Door Dash.  

“You can pre-order on our website,” said Simms. “You can order ahead up to a full month, as long as long as we have the menu released.” 

The shop is located on 3090 Dougall Ave and is open from Tuesday to Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
