A 36-year-old Windsor woman is facing charges in connection with a stolen vehicle.

Police say a resident in the 3100 block of McKay started her vehicle shortly after 7 a.m. Friday and left it idling while they went inside. Minutes later, the vehicle was stolen.

Police discovered the vehicle shortly before 8 a.m. in the 3600 block of Rankin Avenue.

Police say they found a woman in the vicinity of the vehicle who was in possession of the keys. She was arrested and charged with theft of a motor vehicle and possession of stolen property under $5,000.

Windsor police Sgt. Robin Moon said this happens quite often.

“Don’t leave any spare keys in the vehicle and make sure your doors are locked,” said Moon.

Anyone with any additional information is asked to contact Windsor Police or Crime Stoppers at 519-258-8477 (TIPS) or online at www.catchcrooks.com.
