Teen charged in Windsor robbery

A 15-year-old male in Windsor has been charged by the Windsor Police Service after a robbery involving an imitation firearm.

At 4 p.m. on Feb. 27, officers responded to a robbery report on Raymo Rd.

The suspect took a cab to Raymo Rd. and threatened the driver with a firearm when asked to pay for the fair. He then fled towards a residence on Westminster Blvd.

Inside his backpack, police found a replica pellet handgun, baton taser, and Molotov cocktail.

Due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the suspect’s identity cannot be disclosed. He faces charges including robbery with an offensive weapon, pointing a firearm, wearing a disguise with intent, possession of explosive material, possession of incendiary material for arson, possession of prohibited weapon, and failure to comply with release order.

Earlier this month, he was also arrested and charged in connection with a downtown robbery.
