Thrifting hunt and styling
Thrifting for purpose
To become a real thriftier, start looking for luxury items or splendid materials. For example, 100% cashmere, silk, leather or suede clothes, good tweed jackets or quilted jackets or classic tranches, good jeans like AE, Levi’s, Wrangler.
Many ladies are looking for Lululemon, however most of the items that appear in the charity shops are not as good as new and still cost a lot of money.
How to build an expensive look
You don’t need to buy shirts with a logo across your chest. Try scavenging for good textiles and brands that will serve you for more seasons, since the quality of the material will always apply for this. Google the brands and look on Poshmark, eBay for how much people sell them for.
There is nothing embarrassing about it.
Affordable luxury look
For example, I got classic beige trench from Banana Republic for $7.50 (original price was around $300), moms high raise jeans AE for $3.50 (original price around $60) and burgundy converse for $10 (original from $50 if you are lucky), white t-shirt basic one bought new in H&M for $4 (better always buy basic apparels new) and here is classic expensive look for $25.
I don’t deny that don’t need to buy crazy fashionable coats or sweaters, or crazy printed jeans in the thrift store. Sure, could buy them, however, make sure to actually wear them.
Styling. Learn from the best
You need to identify your style first and even find your fashion icon, it will help you to build the wardrobe, mine for a long time was Audrey Hepburn, Vivien Westwood and Moschino. Now, I started liking the casual style of Kate Middleton.
It is okay to take someone’s style and implement into your life, because believe me, there are professionals who are working for them and choosing their closet. So, for you it is already a ready sketch of what you can wear and especially how you want people see you. Of course, an expensive look is always combined with good accessories. Sometimes you can save a lot of money on clothes but try to find a nice bag or watch on sale that will serve you a decade, but also it is always your choice.
